Have you ever felt tired and overwhelmed by too much information on how to exercise?
Has idea of sitting and meditating never felt right?
Do you struggle to feel present and in the moment?
Looking to remove the burden of feeling self conscious about your body movement?
Or generally if you would like to move more but not sure how to start and if you can relate to any of the questions above, I might have a solution!
This self-care idea is about a free flowing movement and you no not need any experience or a particular fitness level. Maybe some days you just don’t feel like doing a crazy, workout and want something different.
I used to dance and with that comes a lot of pressure, self consciousness. Am I doing it right? How about technique? Do I look ok? oh so so so tiering.
Now I flow without judgment or pressure, I let my body enjoy the moment without a burden of expectations.
Since I had children I became occupied with home and everything that comes with it. I don’t have as much time to keep up with intense workout routines, my body needs different care and my priorities has changed. I simply don’t want to care what people think about how I move.
Simply explore how your body feels, start with fingers, toes, ankles, little movements, big if you feel like it. As you become comfortable movements will connect.
A prop like a wall or a shall, chair can help to guide your body towards exploring different movement.
Try not to give into negating thoughts of self judgment or feeling weird. This is not about how it looks. it is about how it feels.
There is no right or wrong way of doing it. Release yourself and flow! Feel your muscles, joints and only push as far as it feels good on your body.
Depending on what is your personal story of physical activities, your movement will be unique as everything you have done before will influence your flow. I love yoga exercise, therefore sometimes I flow with yoga style movement.
Tune into the moment and allow your body to lead. Do not over think it.
Music influence is great too! Let it guide you. You can move in silence too, listen to the rhythm of your body, heart beat and your breath.
You can take it as far as it feels right to you.
I hope I sparked a little interest and you will be willing to try. Just let go, enjoy the meditation that comes with it, tune into the moment, into details of how your body feels and enjoy the free flowing movement therapy, exercise and medicine all at once.
Feel free to watch my YouTube video below. It will help to make more sense of this.
