HIPPIE CROW HUB

Where creativity meets sustainability!

About Hippie Crow Hub

Let me start with a little bit about me, the creator of Hippie Crow Hub and the idea behind it.

My name is Vita Kasperaityte and I was born and raised in a small-town Klaipeda, Lithuania up until age 15.

Travels and Career

I graduated from school and college of performing arts in London, England, also worked as a receptionist and sales advisor at a leisure center up until I was 22 years old.

It was an adventurous time living independently since I was 19, traveling and exploring the world.

Spreading my wings and discovering exotic Asia, moving to Hong Kong and working as a Performer and children’s dance teacher was also a wild thing.

I manage to successfully work in many productions such as music videos, events, flashmobs, rugby seven games, concerts, fashion events, photoshoots and more while studying to become a fitness personal trainer.

Once receiving a certification I focused less on performing and more on establishing my career in the fitness field.

Family Life

Around the same time, I met my future husband. Our relationship developed and few years later we welcomed our first child, our amazing baby girl.

Nothing was more important than our little family.

Up until I was 5 months pregnant, I was teaching fitness.

Soon it became clear that what I really wanted to do is to take care of my baby and home. Chasing a career was no longer my priority. We chose a more old-school way of life. The homemaking kind of way for me.

New Life In Canada

Fast forward to 7 years later… We now live in Canada, where our second baby was born. With our sweet baby boy our family became compete.

As most parents know, it isn’t always simple to manage it all, specially while choosing to support a family of 4 with one person’s income. That strain alone goes to my husband. As we say “he makes money, I save money”.

Keeping up with the chores, children’s needs, relationships and while being squeezed financially by the ‘new age economy’, also trying to remember to self-care… ugh… Us parents know the challenges and difficulties we face and the love that drives us every day.

Time To Create

After 7 years of full-time parenting and homemaking, here I am, figuring out my new adventure as a 35-year-old homemaker and mom of two. Fortunately I was lucky to have experienced so much already, but I feel the need for more. I want to earn money while still being able to care for my family, have a flexible schedule and do it all with my creative talents without a boss telling me what to do. Is it even possible? Something was already brewing at the back of my head.

Hippie Crow Hub was born!

It really started during the lockdown era of course. Still remember making silly little bracelets just because I had some beads at home. The intent was to sooth my stress as we were trying to figure out what are we going to do about the fact that my husband has lost his job.

To this day I say “those stupid bracelets” haha. I opened an Instagram account and started sharing photos of my crafty creations. I simply had to do SOTHETHING!

There it was, the start of creating a business. There even was no name yet. It has never stopped shaping itself, still is evolving, growing and developing. Still trying to get to the point where I can say: ”Yes! I made it. I am earning consistent wages”… One day! I believe!

This website and YouTube Chanel is a place where I share my hippie crafty ways of homemaking and everything that is relatable to the life I am living and creative skills that I am developing.

Hippie Crow Hub has been supplying Handmade, Upcycled and Vintage at Bazaar 306 College street Toronto for over 3 years now.

Handmade is created from thrifted fabrics and not requested fashion industries to produce more as there is so much already made and forgotten.

Upcycled is only upcycled if the item has been damaged and repairs are too demanding.

Vintage items that I adore, see potential for it’s condition, quality and style, which I would not dare to ruin are left as is.

My shop is based on sustainability and the idea that things can be given a second chance. There are so many beautiful things out there for us to reuse and appreciate.

As they say: Sharing is caring.

HCH is also an online shop and we would love to receive Your support 🙂
